MOUNTAIN BIKING: Tnt

← WY GREEN RIVER LA BARGE WY Single Tracks →

Description

If it's a fast, fun, furious free-ride to the bottom with tight turns and steeps
that you're after or a free-flowing uphill to fulfill your fitness fix, either way
your heart will be pumpin' on TNT. With two access trails to/from Quickdraw
and multiple side trails for an easier ride up or down, this trail system offers
freedom and flexibility for the free-rider in all of us. P.S. For you uphill riders,
beware of "The Sneaky Snake", a fun, slithering technical section toward the
top of the trail to challenge your own sneaky skills.

Directions

The Wilkins Peak Trails can be accessed from several different locations

depending upon the length of the ride you desire. The closest starting point to

the majority of the trails is just southeast of the City of Green River's shooting

range off of Forest Road 171. To get to the main trailhead you will turn off of

East Teton Blvd., just north of Jackson Elementary, onto Scott's Bottom road

and then cross the river bridge. The road makes a sweeping right turn and

you will see a parking area (Parking lot A) next to the City's outdoor archery

range. You can park here for a longer ride or continue on the road to Parking

lot B (the main trailhead). Shortly after Parking lot A, take the left fork at the

red metal building "Red Barn" and follow the road .5 miles. You will see a

parking area (Parking B) and Info Kiosk with trail maps on your right. This is

the starting point of "Draino", a 1.05 mile uphill trail that gets you to many of

the other trailheads in the trail system. You may pass this parking area and

continue up Forest Road 171 for another 2 miles to get to the same place,

which is the starting point of "Brent and Mike's Trail" (GPS - N 41 29.767 W

109 26.307) and the other trailheads. You can ride TNT as an out-and-

back/loop, an uphill, or a downhill. To access the uphill portion of "TNT", take

the first right at the starting/finishing point of "Brent and Mike's" and continue

left on the trail at the "Pick Your Poison" trailhead sign until you get to the

"TNT" sign. You can also access the downhill section of "TNT" by going straight

on the "Brent and Mike's Trail" for 2.1 miles until you reach the "TNT" sign at

(GPS N 41 29.991 W 109 23.784).
